Semester long project revolved around the design and prototyping for a family Die Cut Parts.
Within the semester we were required to select a community to design for, iterate prototypes , consult with Manufacturers, Get Quotes for manufacturing our products, create supply chains, and present our prototypes and findings.
The community I chose to Design for was Bicycle Commuters
My last of three products would create a universal bicycle fender that would live under the saddle. The main attachment point would be the rails under the saddle. These rails are usually a universal size and are perfect for securing the fender too.
The final design was made from polypropylene and fits the majority of Bicycle saddles. The design is diet and has a living hinge which allows the fender to fold and hide away when not in use. The design allows the fender to be removed and attached with ease.
